Here’s a quick look at a recent job we carried out in Enfield, sorting out a tired old roofline and giving the front bay roof a fresh new covering while we were at it.
The existing fascia, soffit, guttering and downpipes were all removed, exposing the rafter feet underneath. Any timber that had seen better days was repaired on the spot to get a good, solid fixing ready for the new roofline.
We then fixed new OSB timber boards along the front bay roof to create a strong, level base. This clean decking is essential for a long-lasting flat roof and gives a solid foundation for the next layers to go down.
With the structure sound, we installed a brand-new EPDM rubber membrane across the bay roof. This modern roofing material offers excellent durability and weather resistance, giving the area a neat, watertight finish that’ll last for years.
While we had the tiles above the bay lifted, we also replaced a few broken or weather-worn ones along the bottom edge to ensure a tidy finish and proper water runoff. Everything was securely tucked in to prevent leaks and future maintenance issues.
Once the roof was sorted, we fitted new 18mm black woodgrain uPVC fascia and 10mm white uPVC soffit. The fascia was ventilated at the eaves to help with airflow through the roof space, and we added drip trays and bird combs where needed to protect against water getting in and birds nesting under the tiles.
New black half-round guttering was installed to finish it all off, giving the front of the property a much cleaner, smarter look while making sure rainwater drains away properly.
We used our own access equipment for this job, tidied everything up afterwards and took all the old materials away with us.
The full job — roofline replacement, flat roof covering, tile repairs, and all — was completed in just one day, and the customer walked away with a 10-year guarantee and our number saved in case they need anything in future.
