This project was carried out at a garage property in Wickford and involved the full replacement of the existing roof with a new EPDM rubber membrane system.
The original corrugated roof sheets had reached the point where replacement was required, allowing the structure to be prepared for a more durable roofing system.
Removing the Existing Roof
The existing corrugated roof sheets were fully removed and responsibly disposed of.
This exposed the structure beneath, allowing the new roof to be built up properly from the existing timbers.
Installing the New EPDM Roof
Once the original covering had been removed, 18mm OSB sheets were fitted over the existing timbers to create a solid base.
The new roof was then finished using an EPDM rubber membrane. This is a non-heat applied system, meaning no open flames are required during installation.
The membrane is laid in a single piece, removing the need for joins or seams across the roof surface. All edges were finished with black uPVC trims, and all abutments were sealed using black aluminium trim.
Finished Result
The completed roof provides a clean, uniform finish across the garage.
With a 20-year guarantee on the EPDM system and an expected lifespan of over 50 years, the new roof provides a reliable long-term solution.
