This project was carried out at a residential property in Harlow and involved relining the existing concrete guttering using a GRP fibreglass system.
The original guttering had existing linings and membranes in place, which had reached the point where a full reline was required to restore a watertight finish.
Preparing the Guttering
All existing linings and membranes were fully removed from the concrete guttering.
This exposed the original base so it could be properly prepared. Any debris and loose material were cleared, and cracks in the concrete were filled to create a solid surface.
A concrete primer was then applied across the guttering. This helps the new GRP system bond correctly to the surface.
Installing the GRP System
Fibreglass sheets were fitted into the guttering and combined with resin to form a fully sealed lining.
This creates a continuous waterproof layer within the gutter, helping to protect the structure and prevent further water ingress.
Finished Result
Once the fibreglass had hardened, a top coat resin in graphite grey was applied to seal the surface and provide a consistent finish.
The completed guttering now has a clean, uniform appearance and a fully waterproof lining, restoring its function and extending its lifespan.
