This project involved a full roofline replacement to a property in Stevenage, covering the front, rear, left-hand side and right-hand side up to the chimney. The work also included the front gable, the dormer at the front, the full left-hand side gable, and the right-hand side gable up to the chimney, along with all lower-level roofline at the front.
All existing fascia, soffit and guttering were removed, including the downpipes, to allow full access to the rafter feet. Once exposed, the timber was checked thoroughly. Where any signs of rot were found, repairs were carried out to provide solid fixings before the new roofline was installed.
The replacement roofline was fitted using high-quality white uPVC materials. This included 18mm fascia boards and 10mm soffit boards, giving a clean and uniform finish around the entire property. Ventilation was fitted at the eaves along all fascia runs, and drip trays and bird combs were installed where required to support airflow and prevent debris or nesting issues.
Guttering was fully replaced as part of the work. Black round guttering and downpipes were installed to the front of the property, while black deepflow guttering was fitted to the rear, along with all necessary downpipes. The choice of guttering was based on the layout of the building and water flow requirements, helping the system cope with heavier rainfall.
Most of the installation was completed using SM Roofline’s own access equipment. However, due to the height and layout of the property, a full scaffold was required to gain safe and efficient access to the left-hand side gable and the rear elevation above the conservatory. This was arranged directly by SM Roofline through a trusted scaffolding company, allowing the work to run smoothly without delays.
The installation took a total of four days to complete. Once finished, the property was left clean and tidy, with all waste materials removed from site.
The customer received a 10-year guarantee on the roofline installation, along with SM Roofline’s contact number for future reference.
