This project was carried out at a property in Chelmsford and involved the full replacement of the fascia, soffit and guttering to both the front and rear of the garage.
The existing roofline had reached the point where a full replacement was required, allowing everything to be installed properly from the base rather than covering over what was already there.
Removing the Existing Roofline
All of the existing fascia, soffit and guttering were fully removed, including the downpipes.
This exposed the rafter feet so they could be checked properly. Where any sections showed signs of rot, these were repaired to provide a solid fixing for the new installation.
Removing everything back to the structure ensures the new roofline is fixed securely and performs as it should.
Installing New Fascia and Soffits
The new roofline was installed using rosewood effect uPVC.
An 18mm fascia board was fitted along with a 10mm soffit, creating a consistent finish across both the front and rear of the garage.
All fascia boards were ventilated at the eaves to support airflow, helping to prevent moisture build-up over time. Drip trays and bird combs were also fitted where required to support the overall installation.
Replacing Guttering and Downpipes
The guttering system was replaced with brown round guttering and new downpipes.
This provides a clean and consistent finish while allowing rainwater to drain away effectively from the garage roof.
Access and Installation Process
The work was completed using SM Roofline’s own access equipment.
All materials were installed safely, and once the work was finished, the area was left clean and all waste was removed from site.
Finished Result
The completed installation has given the garage a tidy and uniform appearance, with the new rosewood roofline matching well across both elevations.
With new fascia, soffits and guttering in place, the roofline is now properly supported and finished with durable materials.
The installation also includes a 10-year guarantee on the roofline, along with ongoing support if any issues arise.
